iQuickNet.com uses 4-Layer Filtering Technology that works 24 hours a day, seven days a week to keep questionable material from surprising you or your children!  Our four filters block sites that contain or promote pornography, obscene language, or illegal activities as identified in the table above.

Our goal at iQuickNet.com is to provide a safe environment for everyone who wants to explore the best of the Internet.

1.  iQuickNet.com does the filtering on our own servers, at our facility. You do not have to maintain filtering software and updates on your computer's hard drive.  Our staff updates and modifies the filters on a daily basis, as new websites are found, or as webmasters of such sites find ways around our filtering technology.

2.  Updates are done by our staff. With typical commercial software, you have to subscribe to updates (which usually involve additional fees, annually) and you have to install those updates yourself, which could be technically daunting.

3.  We are able to store far more filtering information than a typical software program can store. For instance, a good software program can have a database of ~50,000 blocked sites. We have over a half-million sites in our database alone, plus the three filters are still at work!

4.  iQuickNet.com set up the filtering parameters to determine if a site should or should not be blocked. Those parameters include pornography, foul language, hatred, and illegal activities as described in the chart above. If a site falls into one or more of these categories, it is blocked.

5.  Sometimes, our filters cannot easily determine a site's content. In that case, we depend upon our subscribers to let us know if they have found a site that is not blocked, that perhaps should be.

6.  iQuickNet.com customers also help this process by informing us of objectionable sites they've found. Customers can send us an email alerting us to a website we should review. "Unblock requests" are also encouraged to inform us of sites our customers believe have been blocked in error.

7.  This filtering technology and its application is only implemented at the specific request of the subscriber.  It is an option that you may choose to implement.  Internet filtering is not intended, in any way, to violate one's constitutional rights to view material that some may consider offensive.  It is, however, intended to be made available to parents who are concerned about their children's safety and experience on the internet.  Of course, an adult may request this option to be implemented even if they do not have children, but are sensitive to such websites and content and do not want to be bothered by them.

8.  iQuickNet.com does not filter email.  We believe that the mail you receive is your own personal property, and we have no right to read it or filter it.  We will, however, block mail that comes from known senders of spam (junk email). This is done for our customers' protection (many spammers send advertisements for pornography) as well as for the protection of our equipment. By keeping out spam, we reduce the risk of viruses such as the recent NIMDA and FUNLOVE attacks.

9.  What are the filtering criteria used by iQuickNet.com to decide on a blocked web site?

bulletPornography: sexually explicit content.
bulletNudity: naked human figures, except classical works of art.
